Kelly Hancock, Acting Texas Comptroller and former Texas State Senator, used his Twitter account to highlight recent policy actions and political activities in late February 2026.

On February 25, 2026, Hancock announced the end of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives in Texas government contracting. He wrote: “And we ENDED DEI in Texas! One of my first priorities as Acting Texas Comptroller was ensuring government contracts are awarded based on best value for taxpayers — not race or gender quotas. Thank you, President @realDonaldTrump https://t.co/ctf2q8CLC8”.

Later that day, Hancock commented on the State of the Union address delivered by former President Donald Trump. In his post he stated: “President @realDonaldTrump’s State of the Union last night was a powerful reminder that the Golden Age of America is underway. As Comptroller, we’re delivering real results fully aligned with the President’s America First agenda. As always, Texas leads the way. https://t.co/e9OIwEq53b”.

On February 26, 2026, Hancock promoted a campaign event involving several Texas politicians supporting Chris Spencer in Nash: “Abbott, Hancock, Hughes and Sheets campaign for Chris Spencer in Nash | Texarkana Today https://t.co/ViDoJqDnQL”.

Hancock has been active in state politics since being elected as a Republican to represent Texas’ 9th Senate district in 2013 after succeeding Chris Harris.
