Kelly Hancock, a Texas Republican and Acting Comptroller, shared updates on recent activities and policy initiatives through several posts on X (formerly Twitter) between January 17 and January 19, 2026.
On January 17, Hancock recounted his participation in a local tradition, writing, “We kicked off the legendary Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo last night — and I was honored to ride in the Grand Entry. It was great to have Robin there with me, especially since our first date was at a rodeo. Texas tradition runs deep. God bless Texas! @FWSSR”
The following day, he posted about engaging with voters at a candidate forum: “Wonderful time yesterday at the Republican Club of Van Zandt County Candidate Forum sharing accomplishments as Acting Comptroller — securing the border, ending DEI, launching Texas DOGE, and advancing education freedom.” This statement references his tenure as Acting Comptroller and highlights issues such as border security and educational policy.
On January 19, Hancock addressed reforms regarding state contract awards and diversity programs: “We appreciate @TXAG following our move to END DEI in Texas. Texas should award contracts on merit and best value — not race, gender, or DEI scorecards. That’s why as Comptroller I suspended the HUB program — because HUB was DEI with different letters. Glad to see these reforms”
Hancock has served as an elected official since 2013 when he became the Texas State Senator for District 9 after replacing Chris Harris.
