Kelly Hancock, a Texas State Senator representing the 9th district since 2013, shared updates on social media highlighting recent events and policy initiatives.
On February 3, 2026, Hancock posted about his visit to the Rio Grande Valley (RGV), stating, “Always a delight coming to the welcoming environment of the RGV.”
The following day, Hancock described attending a political event in Cameron County. In his February 4 post, he wrote, “Packed house at the Cameron County Lincoln-Reagan Dinner! Robin and I loved hearing from @GregAbbott_TX and @LaraLeaTrump. Thanks to President Trump, our border is secure again, America is back, and Cameron County is RED! “
Later that same day, Hancock announced a major development in Texas education policy. He stated on February 4: “Texas Education Freedom Accounts are LIVE! We’re empowering parents with the largest first-year school choice program in the U.S. — while ensuring no taxpayer dollars go to schools tied to terrorists or foreign adversaries. 1,700+ approved providers and growing!”
Hancock has served as a Republican member of the Texas State Senate since 2013 after succeeding Chris Harris in representing District 9.
