The seventh-ranked TCU beach volleyball team swept both No. 19 South Carolina and No. 11 Arizona State on March 27 at the TCU Beach Volleyball Courts, according to a university announcement.
These victories mark an important turnaround for the Horned Frogs, who snapped a four-match losing streak with their performance in the Big 12 Preview event.
In the first match of the day, TCU defeated South Carolina with a score of 5-0. The team started strong by winning quickly at flight five and securing another win at flight four, putting them just one point away from clinching the match. Kaitlyn Bradley made her first start of the season and secured the clinching point alongside Elea Beutel at Flight 1. Flights two and three followed with wins to complete the sweep over South Carolina.
TCU continued its momentum into its second match against Arizona State, again posting a decisive 5-0 victory to avenge an earlier loss this season against that opponent. Beutel and Bradley clinched their second straight match together in two sets, while flights four and five also posted quick wins.
With these results, TCU improved its all-time record to 7-3 against South Carolina and now stands at 9-4 all-time versus Arizona State but is even this season at one win apiece with ASU. The Horned Frogs also recorded their first sweep over a ranked opponent this season during these matches.
Looking ahead, TCU is scheduled for two more matches tomorrow as part of the Big 12 Preview event, including an early morning matchup against Boise State.
