TCU women’s basketball player Olivia Miles was selected as the No. 2 overall pick by the Minnesota Lynx in the 2026 WNBA Draft at The Shed at Hudson Yards in New York City on April 13.
Miles is now the highest WNBA Draft pick in TCU history, joining Sandora Irvin and Hailey Van Lith as one of three first-round selections from the program. She also becomes the second-highest professional draft pick ever produced by TCU Athletics and is the highest since Charles “Ki” Aldrich was chosen first overall in the 1939 NFL Draft.
During her five-year college career, Miles led TCU to a second straight Big 12 regular season championship and another run to the NCAA Elite Eight. The team finished with a record of 32-6 and tied for its best year-end national ranking at No. 6 in the Associated Press poll. In her only season with TCU, she averaged a career-high 19.6 points per game along with notable statistics across rebounds, assists, steals, and shooting percentage.
Miles became recognized as an all-time record-setter for both TCU and collegiate women’s basketball more broadly. She swept Big 12 Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year honors—an achievement matched only by Hailey Van Lith—and earned first team All-American recognition from several major outlets including The Athletic, USA Today Sports, Women’s Basketball Coaches Association, Wooden Award, and The Associated Press. She was also a top-five finalist for the Nancy Lieberman Award and semifinalist for the Naismith Trophy.
She holds multiple single-season records at TCU including points scored (744), field goals made (268), assists (252), and average assists per game (6.6). Her total career assists place her sixteenth on NCAA’s all-time list.
Miles will graduate from TCU in May with a Master of Liberal Arts degree after earning undergraduate degrees from Notre Dame where she was named ACC Kay Yow Scholar Athlete of the Year for 2024-25. WNBA training camps are scheduled to begin Sunday with preseason games starting April 25 ahead of opening night on May 8.
