The City of Fort Worth is inviting nonprofit organizations that are serving homeless residents to submit proposals to city officials for a second allocation of CARES Act grants.
Just over $5.46 million will be distributed among those who qualify for the funds. Organizations that apply must also have the legal capacity to manage federal grant funds.
Eligible activities are listed in priority order, and include Rapid ReHousing, outreach to unsheltered homeless residents, emergency shelters, and essential services and operations. Organizations that work on homelessness prevention and emergency shelter renovations follow in priority.
Those who want to apply must contact Sharon Burkley at 817-392-5785. Applications must be presented to the Neighborhood Services Department by July 31. Grant winners will be selected based according to their priority level.
Funding support will be overseen by the Community Development Council. However, the Fort Worth City Council will make the final decisions on awards.
