The City of Fort Worth's Emergency Household Assistance Program funded by the CARES Act still has assistance available for eligible water customers.

The funding is available to assist those who have suffered economically from the COVID-19 crisis and are having trouble paying their water bill.

The Fort Worth Public Library has packets that residents can take home and review. Residents are encouraged to have the necessary documentation before completing the online application. Residents can find the library times on the website.

“There is CARES Act assistance available and we want our customers to take advantage of it,” Water Director Chris Harder said.

Library director Manya Shorr also commented on the effort.

“Libraries are civic spaces that provide information, resources and services to all residents,” Shorr said. “When we learned how challenging the application process for these important grants is, our library staff stepped up to create information packets residents can take home to review and not feel pressured by time limitations on visits to our buildings.”
