Businesses with up to 500 employees and in need of financial assistance due to the ongoing economic crisis created by COVID-19 restrictions can apply for a Preserve the Fort business grant through Oct. 2.
The grants are being funded with approximately $9 million from the city’s CARES Act allocation, according to the city. Raising the upper size limit to 500-employee companies was a decision reached between the Fort Worth Economic Development Department and the United Way of Tarrant County, based on the success of the first round of Preserve the Fort grants.
The latest round of grants will also give preference to bars and music venues that have been forced to close due to ongoing restrictions. There will be a $100,000 cap on such awards, and no venue will be permitted to receive a grant greater than their demonstrated losses.
Additional information can be found on the city’s website.
