Allied Electronics and Automation completes expansion to Fort Worth distribution center

Allied Electronics and Automation has completed a new 200,000-square-foot expansion to its distribution center in Fort Worth. 

“Adoption of commercial and industrial automation continues to grow at an incredible pace, and with this significant investment in expanding our main facility, we are making good on our promise to be the distributor of choice for our customers and suppliers," Ken Bradley, president of the Americas Region, said. 

According to a press release, the distribution center’s new expansion will feature KNAPP automated order storage and retrieval systems, OSR Shuttle Evo, and RFID pocket sortation. The expansion will also include ergonomic receiving stations to more quickly process inbound supplier products, an automated box erector machines, robotic packing stations, and an automated call center to facilitate rapid pickups for local customers.

“The solution developed in partnership with Allied Electronics & Automation was crafted in a unique and collaborative way,” Josef Mentzer, CEO of KNAPP North America, said. "The project was focused on aligning precisely with the needs of the company's customers and other stakeholders, and all will benefit immensely from this investment in the future."
