CITY OF FORT WORTH: How To Dispose Of Live Christmas Trees

Christmastreecollect

City of Fort Worth issued the following announcement on Dec. 23.

They added warmth and vitality to your home during the holiday season, and now you can give your Christmas tree a second life.

Live Christmas trees can be disposed of as part of Fort Worth’s normal weekly yard waste pickup. Trees must be less than eight feet long; cut trees in two pieces if necessary. Be sure to take all your decorations, lights and tree stands off of the tree before you place it on the curb. Do not put the tree in a plastic bag. Flocked trees are accepted; artificial trees should be disposed of in the brown garbage cart.

Residents can also take live trees to any of the city’s four drop-off stations:

  • 5150 Martin Luther King Freeway.
  • 6260 Old Hemphill Road.
  • 301 Hillshire Drive.
  • 2400 Brennan Ave.
Remove all lights, decorations and tree stands before taking the tree to the drop-off station.
