City of Bedford Texas issued the following announcement on Aug. 23
Today, the annual Clear the Shelters event started at the Bedford Animal Shelter where adoption fees are waived through September 19.
We’re crossing our fingers that Cookie, the shelter’s longest resident, finds her forever home during this time.
This sweet girl is a 3-year-old female terrier mix and a favorite of Animal Control staff. She enjoys walks, stuffed animals, and Kong toys filled with peanut butter. Cookie has manners but likes to test boundaries at times and would benefit from some basic obedience training. If you’re going to pair her with another animal, she’s good with cats but is a bit dog selective and prefers dogs similar to her in size.
If you’d like to learn more about Cookie, or view Bedford’s other animals available for adoption, please visit www.bedfordtx.gov/adopt. The shelter is open Monday – Friday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Shelter staff can be reached during business hours at 817-952-2191 or via email at animal.services@bedfordtx.gov.
If you’re unable to adopt a pet right now but would like to donate to their care, the Shelter’s wish list and a donation link are available at www.bedfordtx.gov/animalshelter.
