TCU freshman women's golfer Caitlyn Macnab will play in the 2022 Augusta National Women's Amateur, beginning Wednesday at the Champions Retreat Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.
An international field of 72 women amateurs will compete over 54 holes of stroke play. A cut will take place after 36 holes, advancing the leading 30 players to the final round at Augusta National Golf Club.
Macnab's 71.0 stroke average is on pace to break Sabrina Iqbal's TCU record of 72.0 in the 2019-20 campaign. A native of Johannesburg, South Africa, Macnab has shot par or better in 15 of 21 rounds this season. She set a TCU 54-hole record with a 13-under 203 to finish second at the Jim West Challenge. It was one of her three top-three results in the last five tournaments. She tied for second at the Clover Cup and third at the MountainView Collegiate with consecutive scores of 8-under 208. She has six sub-70 rounds on the year.
Macnab's first-round tee time Wednesday is at 8:30 a.m. CDT with live scoring HERE.
TCU is represented at the Augusta National Women's Amateur for the second straight year as Iqbal played in the 2021 event.
