The TCU women's basketball team will play nine of its 11 scheduled non-conference games inside the friendly confines of Schollmaier Arena, as the non-conference slate was announced today.
In addition to the nine home dates, TCU's non-conference slate also includes two road contests, the return of the Maggie Dixon Classic to Schollmaier Arena for a third consecutive year and the Horned Frogs taking on four teams that played in the 2022 NCAA Tournament.
TCU will open the regular season on Monday, Nov. 7, hosting Libscomb. The Horned Frogs and Bisons will meet on the court for the first time in each program's history. TCU will then hit the road for the first of two road contests during the non-conference tilt, hitting the road for Chapel Hill, N.C., to face the North Carolina Tar Heels on Nov. 12. The Frogs and Tar Heels will meet up for a second straight season after hosting UNC a year ago.
Following its trip to North Carolina, TCU returns home to open a four-game home stand, beginning with a home contest against UTSA on Nov. 16. The Frogs will then play host to another NCAA Tournament participant from last season when they take on USF in the Maggie Dixon Classic on Nov. 20. The Maggie Dixon Classic will feature a women's basketball doubleheader as Oklahoma will face UTA in a neutral site match-up. TCU and USF will meet up for the sixth time.
TCU will wrap up the home stand hosting Sam Houston on Nov. 23, and then taking on Incarnate Word on Nov. 29. The Horned Frogs and Bearkats will meet up for the 20th time overall and first time since 2018. Meanwhile, TCU and UIW, who also played in the NCAA Tournament last season, will face-off for the second time in the past three seasons and for the fourth time overall.
The Frogs hit the road one final time as it opens the month of December on the road at Rice, taking on the Owls on Dec. 2. The Horned Frogs and Owls will play each other for the 50th time overall, but it marks the first meeting since 2007.
TCU closes out its non-conference slate with another four-game home stand, first returning to Schollmaier Arena to host George Washington on Dec. 5. TCU and GWU will meet for the first time since 2006. The Frogs will then take on its fourth non-conference opponent that played in the NCAA Tournament last season, hosting Missouri State on Dec. 9. The Frogs and Lady Bears will meet for the fifth time overall.
TCU and Grambling will face each other for the first time since 2016 when the Frogs host the Tigers on Dec. 18. The Horned Frogs will then wrap-up the non-con slate hosting Nicholls just prior to the holiday break on Dec. 21.
TCU head women's basketball coach Raegan Pebley enters her ninth season at the helm of the program. She welcomes back seven players from the 2021-22 squad, while introducing six incoming players that includes five transfers and one high school graduate.
