The National Association of Basketball Coaches on Tuesday announced the recipients of the 2021-22 NABC Honors Court, representing outstanding achievement in the classroom by collegiate men's basketball student-athletes.
UT Arlington had five graduate students earn a place on the academic team: Carson Bischoff, David Azore, Jack Hoiberg, Pedro Castro and Nathaniel Spurgeon. In addition, UTA received the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award for completing the 2021-22 academic year with a team GPA of 3.041.
The NABC Honors Court includes junior, senior and graduate student-athletes who finished the 2021-22 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Bischoff, Azore and Spurgeon all achieved their GPAs while pursuing a Master's of Business Administration, while Castro is a Criminal Justice student and Hoiberg an Educational Leadership and Policy Studies student.
"Academic success is a core value of the NABC and a priority shared by men's basketball programs across the country," said NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson. "Excellence in the classroom requires hard work and dedication, and the NABC considers it a privilege to honor these deserving student-athletes and the coaches and staff who support them."
