Dill Strengthens Roster With Two-Way Player Tamya Waiters

UT Arlington softball head coach Kara Dill has announced the final addition of Tamya Waiters who is set to join the team this fall.

Waiters is a right-handed pitcher from The Colony High School. The incoming freshman logged many accolades throughout her senior year as she was named the 2022 DFW All-Metroplex 5A Player of the Year, Texas All-State Softball Team Pitcher, Texas Girls Association Softball Legacy Team and earned a Dallas Morning News Athlete of the Week honorable mention twice.

In 2022, the righty also posted 1st Team All-District honors along with being a semifinalist for the Softball Texas 5A Regional. To cap her senior year, Waiters was selected to the DFW All-Metroplex 1st Team and Star Local Media All-Area UIL 1st Team.  

Waiters' efforts not only showed on the field, but in the classroom as well. The Texas native earned 2022 Academic All-District respects and was part of the Texas Academic All-State team. The four-year letter winner was selected to the Texas Sports Writers All-State softball team and was a member of the National Honor Society.

PERSONAL

Broadcasting major… Mom played basketball at the University of Scranton… Uncle played basketball for the University of Notre Dame… Aunt played volleyball for Albany State University.
