Representatives from Hill College, the city of Burleson and Burleson ISD gathered for the grand opening of the Burleson Higher Education Center on February 23, 2023. The facility's opening culminates a multi-year project with the Burleson Independent School District (BISD) and the City of Burleson. The renovations were made possible by funds from the BISD Facilities Advisory Committee in a bond package approved in May 2017 and a $1 million contribution by the city intended for the beautification of the campus and to promote higher education and economic development.Hill College has also partnered with Texas Tech University, which now has a presence at the campus, offering classes and degree plans for students attending Hill College at the Burleson Higher Education Center as well as the community. With Texas Tech University's partnership, Burleson students and residents can obtain a bachelor's degree in one of 20 fields without leaving the city limits. "Partnerships like this is what makes our community so great," stated Mayor Chris Fletcher at the ribbon cutting. "We are a small town with a big vision." "This school has been part of our community's story for 60 years," said Dr. Jimerson.
