Volunteering in Fort Worth’s Park & Rec programs is a fun way to give back to the community. And now. there’s extra incentive to volunteer.
What’s new: Effective in July, the Park & Recreation Department will reward qualifying volunteers with a Gold-tier fitness members at the community center of their choice.
“Many of our programs and special events rely on our volunteers to be successful. People of all ages and abilities can improve their community by volunteering, and now you can receive a free fitness membership. It is a win-win situation for everyone involved,” said Eric Lopez, district superintendent.
How it works:
What kinds of volunteer opportunities are available? Afterschool programs, Camp Fort Worth, Best Years Club (for seniors), class instructor, food distribution, special event attendants, youth sports coach and more.Sign up online by selecting your local community center and scrolling to Volunteer opportunities.
