There were 106 American Indian students enrolled in Fort Worth ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 1% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Fort Worth ISD schools welcomed 74,850 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, American Indian students comprised 0.1% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Fort Worth ISD roughly covers schools within Tarrant County and has a main office in Fort Worth.

Among the 139 schools in Fort Worth ISD schools, Benbrook Middle/High School recorded the highest enrollment of American Indian students in the 2021-22 school year, with a total of six students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
