Residents grappling with outstanding citations or seeking assistance with rent, utilities, employment or legal matters will have an opportunity to address their concerns at the upcoming Court in the Community/Warrant Forgiveness event.
Event details: Scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 20, the event will take place at LVT Rise, 8201 Calmont Ave.
Why it matters: Hosted by the LVT Rise Center and organized in partnership with Fort Worth Municipal Court, this event pairs the opportunity to resolve outstanding cases with the opportunity to receive other services. There will be 120 walk-up appointments (no preregistrations). The last check-in time is 9 a.m. Additionally, job skills training, employment assistance and other vital resources will be available onsite.

- The Safe Harbor Court initiative ensures that those with outstanding warrants can seek resolution without the threat of incarceration.
- Eligible individuals can also explore alternatives such as community service or fine reduction based on ability to pay.
- Beyond warrant forgiveness, the event will offer walk-up services without appointments, including legal assistance from Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas. Attendees can seek help with general civil matters encompassing family law, wills and estates, landlord/tenant cases, public benefits, federal tax, bankruptcy and real property matters.
- Goodwill North Central Texas will be present to provide employment opportunities, job placement services, career counseling and job readiness skills training, including resume writing, interviewing skills and job search techniques — all at no cost.
