TCU will return home to face New Mexico State on March 17, with first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m. The game marks the beginning of a stretch where the Horned Frogs will play eight of their next nine games at home.

The matchup is significant as TCU looks to rebound after dropping its Big 12 opening series at Arizona State. The Horned Frogs, currently holding an 11-8 record, won the first game against Arizona State but lost the final two. Sunday’s 4-0 defeat was notable as it was the first time TCU had been shut out since May 22, 2024, ending a streak of 77 games without being held scoreless.

TCU leads the Big 12 and ranks seventh nationally with 132 walks this season. Walter Quinn has appeared in eleven games so far, ranking fifth nationally in appearances. The team turned four double plays in Friday’s win over Arizona State, bringing their season total to sixteen. Nolan Traeger has driven in a run in eight of his last twelve games and leads TCU with eighteen runs batted in during that span. Sawyer Strosnider has reached base safely in thirty-five consecutive games dating back to last year and has drawn twenty-three walks this season, tying him for first place in the Big 12 and fourteenth nationally.

New Mexico State enters the contest with a record of nine wins and ten losses after dropping a series at DBU over the weekend. The Aggies were outscored forty-four to twenty-one during that series but have performed well in midweek contests this season with a three-and-one record. Chris Daniels leads New Mexico State offensively with a .367 batting average, three home runs, and twenty-three RBIs.

Historically, TCU holds a seven-to-one advantage over New Mexico State in their all-time series. Six of their previous eight meetings have taken place in Fort Worth. Last year, TCU split a rain-shortened series against New Mexico State at home.

The Horned Frogs have been strong at Lupton Stadium, compiling an all-time record of five hundred nineteen wins and one hundred seventy-eight losses there. Under head coach Kirk Saarloos, TCU is ninety-one and thirty-four at home and has won seventy-seven out of one hundred one home series.
