111 coaches at institutions in Tarrant County earned $259,207 on average in 2022

Tarrant County’s 111 coaches earned an average salary of $259,207 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the sixth highest average salary per county earned by coaches at Texas post-secondary schools during 2022.

Tarrant County is home to four post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, Texas Christian University stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $715,402.

Male coaches of men's teams received $482,793 on average in Tarrant County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $107,096.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
