Cost of college went up for all students at Tarrant County College District

In-state tuition and fees rose 9.4 percent for 2018-19 at Tarrant County College District, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Texas residents paid $3,132 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $270 more than the $2,862 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 141.4 percent more than residents this year, or $7,560. Their price tag grew 9.8 percent from $6,885 in 2017-18.

About 95 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Texas residents. And about 1 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 65 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 2,659 students received grants or scholarships totaling $12.6 million and 467 students took out student loans totaling more than $2.3 million.

Including all undergraduates (51,100), 19,269 students used grants or scholarships totaling $86.1 million, and 10,145 students took out $32.4 million in federal student loans.
