The Fort Worth Facebook Data Center is contributing a $76,900 technology grant as an expansion of its COVID-19 relief effort.

After a year of success with Tynker licenses, Facebook – understanding the significance of coding skills – has pledged its support of STEM education in Fort Worth ISD. The grant finances 27 elementary schools that are receiving Tynker coding licenses.

Tynker is a coding platform designed for younger students that are in grades K-8.

“We are proud of our strong partnership with the Fort Worth Independent School District, and we are pleased to continue our support of its CTE programming,” Holli Davies, Community Development Regional Manager at Facebook, said in a press release. “We know the importance of CTE education, and we’re committed to FWISD students having access to real-world educational opportunities. Tynker is a great way to help elementary school students learn to programing and develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills.”
