The community is invited to a national championship reception celebrating Weatherford College’s women’s rodeo team at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, in the Emerging Technologies and Workforce Building Community Room.
This is the first national title for the rodeo team, which came out on top of 35 teams representing 125 schools at the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyoming, this past summer.
Brie Wells was named reserve national champion in breakaway roping, Kristin Reaves clocked the fastest time in CNFR history in goat tying bringing home third place, Kody Hoss finished seventh in goat tying and Bradi Good took home third place in barrel racing.
In addition to the women’s title, Jace Helton and his teammate, Riley Kittle from Cisco College, won the national championship in team roping bringing home WC’s fourth individual national title.
