Midori Clark | Fort Worth City
A dedicated library professional with vast experience in strategic planning, building community partnerships, fundraising and development, Midori Clark has been named director of the Fort Worth Public Library.
Clark was selected following a nationwide search to replace Manya Shorr, who resigned.
“I am thrilled to welcome Midori Clark to the City of Fort Worth,” Assistant City Manager Jesica McEachern said. “Midori is a demonstrated leader who brings to the position a wealth of experience and vast knowledge in the profession. She is passionate and enthusiastic about providing library services and access to all members of the community.”
Since 2019, Clark has been director of library and cultural services for the City of Aurora, the third largest city in Colorado. She oversaw seven public libraries, a bookmobile, two arts centers, a history museum and historic sites, and cultural arts education.
In Aurora, library statistics include more than 1.3 million checkouts, nearly 500,000 visits and nearly 172,000 program attendees.
Prior to her work in Aurora, she was director of community relations, development and strategic initiatives for the City-County Library District in Pueblo, Colo., and its 12 locations.
Clark also has extensive experience in corporate communications and broadcast news. She has a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism along with a master of science degree in library and information sciences and a master of arts degree in applied communication with an emphasis in marketing and public relations.
“I'm excited to support and work with such dedicated public servants,” Clark said. “The Fort Worth Public Library serves so many stakeholders every day, and I'm honored to be part of a team that creates such positive impact in the community.”
Clark begins work in Fort Worth on Jan. 2.
