WASHINGTON – In a significant development for Texas, Chairwoman of the House Appropriations Committee, Congresswoman Kay Granger (R-TX), has successfully secured major funding victories for the state in the Fiscal Year 2024 funding bills.

Granger emphasized the importance of the funding secured, stating, "As Chairwoman of the Appropriations Committee, I secured major funding important to our local economy and community, as well as that of our great state and nation." She highlighted the efforts made to curb wasteful spending, provide border enforcement funding, and support the Armed Services in defending America.

Among the provisions Granger secured in the bill are initiatives aimed at creating and supporting jobs in the North Texas defense industry. This includes funding for new F-35 Joint Strike Fighters built and assembled in TX-12, which will support over 17 suppliers representing more than 49,000 direct and indirect jobs. The bill also supports the development, modernization, and engine enhancement of the F-35 aircraft produced locally in Fort Worth.

Furthermore, the funding bills continue to provide support for various defense programs in the area, such as the Army’s Future Long Range Attack Aircraft and additional Navy V-22s, reinforcing the presence of Bell Textron in the Fort Worth region.

In addition to defense-related allocations, the bills address various other key initiatives, including support for servicemembers and their families, infrastructure expansion in the 12th District, efforts to address the border crisis, and measures to support farmers, ranchers, and rural communities.

The funding bills also prioritize supporting and protecting veterans, with full funding allocated for veterans' medical care. Granger's efforts also extend to supporting America's allies, such as Israel, while taking a stance against organizations like the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) and countering Chinese aggression through strategic financial allocations.

Overall, the secured funding in the FY24 bills reflects Congresswoman Kay Granger's dedication to advocating for the needs of Texas, particularly in North Texas, and supporting critical aspects of national defense and security.
