Texas School of the Arts District Education: 73 African American students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 73 African American students enrolled in Texas School of the Arts District in the 2022-23 school year, 15.9% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Texas School of the Arts District welcomed 334 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, African American students comprised 21.9% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Texas School of the Arts District roughly covers schools within Tarrant County and has a main office in Fort Worth.

Texas School of the Arts was the only school in the district which enrolled African American students, welcoming 73 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
